I have looked at a mixture of short and long games, some simple ones and some more complicated, and some that hardly need any equipment. So if you’re feeling spontaneous and want to play something this evening, you don’t need to rush to the shops to buy anything; you’re ready to rumble.

1. Laugh, You Loose

I decided to start with a game that will be easier for people to feel comfortable with if they’re introducing couples’ games into their relationship for the first time.
This drinking card game for couples one is easy to get your head around because it includes doing something you probably already do in your day-to-day life, scrolling through funny videos online.
This game is quite similar to the card game, You Laugh! Only instead of using cards, you and your partner find funny videos on apps such as YouTube and TicToc, and try not to laugh.
Whoever is the first one to break the seal and laugh first is the one that takes a shot of alcohol. Of course, this gets funnier and more difficult the deeper into the shots you get.
2. Queen of the Deck

Queen of the Deck is a straightforward game, which you can play round after round until you want to move on to something else.
It’s similar to the card game snap, but you’re looking for a single Queen instead of keeping your eye out for a matching pair of cards.
The idea is to remove three of the Queens from your deck of cards before you start, leaving just one remaining, and then shuffle your deck.
Divide the cards between the two of you, and each starts taking turns to place a card in the middle, face up.
The first person to spot a Queen should shout out an agreed word when spotted, and the person who shouts out last takes a drink.
You can make up your own rules for this, so the word you have to shout out might be “Queen!” Or “Shot!” Or “Drink!” The action performed is up to you, whether you want to take a shot or neck a full glass of wine.
3. Speed

Speed is a fun, quick-thinking game that requires some alertness to play correctly. Still, when alcohol is thrown into the mix, this becomes something that starts to deteriorate, making the game slightly more amusing.
The idea is to get your cards down to zero for the other person. You start the game with 15 cards, and the rest of the deck is set in the middle of the table.
The first person should place a card down, face up, for you both to see. Next, the other player can play either one card higher or lower than the one already down. If you can’t play, you skip your turn.
Unlike the Speed card game, which doesn’t involve drinking, at the end of each round, the loser (the player unable to get rid of their cards) should drink their shot or complete a drinking dare chosen by the other player.

I am sure you’re already aware of the classic dice drinking games out there, but if you want to use one to spice up your relationship, the striptease dice is the one you’re looking for.
This super simple game requires nothing more than you, your drinks, and a dice to roll. After that, the rules are practically your own.
Before you play, set the game rules. These can be anything you like. For example, you could keep things simple and use odd and even numbers only, so if you roll an even number, you take off an item of clothing, and the same for an odd number.
You can also mix things up by giving each number a specific action, so each number on the dice represents a particular item of clothing. You could even throw some wild cards in there. For instance, try playing the game with two dice. Each time you roll a double, an action is performed, such as giving your partner a massage or kissing any part of their body for 10 seconds.
It all depends on how brave you are and how comfortable you feel as far as you want to take this game, but I recommend stepping out of that comfort zone and letting your wild side shine.
6. Guess What!

Suppose you’re like me and love a good trivia and quiz game. In that case, it is the perfect game to break out with your partner on couples night, even more so when you include a nice bottle of whiskey or a couple of bottles of wine.
The game itself is self-explanatory, and the rules are your own.
All you need to do is think of a list of questions about yourself or your relationship (write them down in advance if you like, it can help to stop any delays during gameplay and will also mean you’re not put on the spot.)
You create the entire game yourself.
The game aims to answer the questions correctly; if you fail, you must take a drink. You can also add even more little quirks into this game, such as rewards for getting a question right. Use your imagination for this.
7. Hide and Drink
- What You’ll Need: Pen, paper, aluminum foil, drinks
- Playing Time: 30 – 60 minutes
Not to be confused with the classic game of Hide and Seek, this drinking card game for couples means you must actively find clues, dares, and actions that your other half has hidden around the house.
All you need to do is write down some things for your partner to do on small pieces of paper.
Wrap each piece of paper in foil into a small ball, and hide them in various places around the house. The trickier, the better. When they discover the challenges, they must complete them.
The challenges can be anything you desire, such as mixing a cocktail, performing a strip tease, throwing back a shot, or doing a naked handstand. You can be as imaginative as you like.
8. Naughty Jenga
- What You’ll Need: Jenga blocks and alcohol
- Playing Time: 15 – 45 minutes

Now, this does involve you defacing your Jenga set, so hopefully, that won’t be too much of an issue for you.

The game is pretty self-explanatory. Once you’ve built your tower, each of you takes it, in turn, to remove a block from the tower without it falling. Each time you remove a block, you perform the action it instructs. This can be anything from kissing your partner to holding hands for 30 seconds.
If the tower does fall, whoever removed the block at the time, must take a shot or drink selected at the start of the game.
9. Draw & Drink

This is a great couples drinking game for any Pictionary lovers out there.
Draw & Drink has all the same rules as Pictionary, which means you both draw pictures for the other person to guess.
You can draw anything you like, from items in the house to famous people or a famous scene from a movie. If you already have a Pictionary set lying around the house, feel free to use the cards to play. But, if you haven’t, it’s okay.
So, where does drinking come into play? I hear you say, well, that’s easy. Every time your partner or yourself guesses the other one drawing incorrectly, you take a drink.
So, be careful what you shout out, and don’t be too eager, or the game could be over before you know it.
